Sensory pamper session

Being pampered in sensory. Trying a new face mask using Greek yogurt and banana. It was quite cold and strange feeling. I also had my toenails painted in pretty gold paint. I also spent the morning doing a sensory bag and making cards for kids in hospital who will be spending Xmas away from their families. Bringing positivity to people - inspired by my recent trip to hospital.

I’m back,

I have not been at Arohanui for 2 weeks as I became unwell, but I am now back and feeling as spunky as ever. Never one to be held back for long, I am already looking forward to making the cards for the elderly and enjoying mirimiri with my friends again. Hopefully I will be getting a new computer soon, so watch this space, no rest for the wicked!

Love letters

We did something a little different in Wildlife Art today, continued working on Love letters and hope they bring as much joy to the children as I had doing them!

Exploring Historic village

Me exploring historic village with a few of my friends. Me and Nicole T.C went to the craft store which I really enjoyed and I will definitely be going back down there. The lady was very accomodating and polite. I will be definitely recommending her to my friends in wheelchairs as its hard to find people in small local stores who are welcoming with us and our wheelchair even if we make a mess. I had really enjoyed this trip the weather was lovely. I hope I get to go on more outings. I also got some really neat inspiration for art classes I am in and projects we could do together as a centre....
So watch this space!

This is me making a bracelet for my friend Deanna, it was her birthday last week. Because she lives on Great Barrier Island,I did not see her and she made me one, so I wanted us to have friendship bracelets.

Super scented sensory slime

I really enjoyed sensory today. I was Able to play with some lovely lavender scented slime, which I found very calming, I also had a lovely hand and foot massage and enjoyed doing a mystery sensory bag, with items in that you have to feel and describe the texture, shape and what your feeling and have a guess at what you think it might be. I really enjoy the mystery bags. I am also surprised at how accurate my sense of touch can be if I focus.

Sensory

This is me trying a new texture - an Aloe Vera face mask and chilling with my mates! I enjoyed the experience but found it got a little sticky towards the end. I was surprised at just how much of the Aloe Vera my skin soaked up.
